Granular Recovery Technology backup of Active Directory Virtual Machine completes with exception and GRT Restore not possible


Hyper-V and VMware GRT (Granular Recovery Technology) backup of an Active Directory VM (Virtual Machine) completes with the following exception and subsequent GRT Restores are also not possible.

Error Message

“V-79-57344-38747 - Backup Exec was unable to prepare Microsoft Active Directory resources for Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) operations. Therefore you will be unable to perform GRT-enabled restores of Microsoft Active Directory data from this backup”.
