Symantec System Recovery installation fails at 99% with "Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {4F6D20F0-CCE5-1492-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}..."

Problem

The Symantec System Recovery installation fails at 99% with: "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component ...". When OK is clicked, the installation rolls back.

 

Error Message

Errors found in the Windows system event log and the SSR logs may include:
"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {4F6D20F0-CCE5-1492-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x800736FD."


Note: The assembly component GUID 4F6D20F0-CCE5-1492-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E may vary.

Cause

This issue is related to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package used by the SSR installer process.

Solution

 

This issue has been fixed in Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2.

Please download Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 from Evaluation or MyVeritas portal, and upgrade to Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2.
