Backup of a Sharepoint 2013 Farm fails with 'V-70-57344-794 - Error: Unable to query the Team database meta-data' on the 'Workflow Service Application Proxy' component.

The error is due to failing to interpret the response from the 'IsClientValid' query, when Sharepoint Workflow Manager is configured.
Deselect the 'Workflow Service Application Proxy' component from the Farm backup. The backup job will then complete successfully. Although this component is a part of the Farm configuration, it is not a critical component and deselecting that will have no effect on the backup\restore capabilities of the Content DBs that hold the user data.
