The GUI displays all of the DB2 instances and can expand the tablespace list for the pre-9.7 instances, but cannot display the tablespaces for some DB2 9.7 instances.
Scheduled backups are running and continue to be successful.
The BAR GUI uses the bpubsdb2 command to query for the elements to be displayed. In this situation, the command will list the instances and other objects that were displayed successfully in the GUI.
$ /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpubsdb2 -b DB2:
$ bpubsdb2 -b DB2:db2prd:
$ bpubsdb2 -b DB2:db2prd:PRD:
$ bpubsdb2 -b DB2:db2prd:PRD:0:
But the command to display the tablespaces does not produce any output; hence the lack of update in the GUI.
$ bpubsdb2 -b "DB2:db2prd:PRD:0:Table Spaces:"
The tablespaces for other instances can be displayed, e.g.:
$ bpubsdb2 -b "DB2:db2tst:TST:0:Table Spaces:"
The interface between bpubsdb2 and DB2 is the nbbrowse command, which shows that the tablespace list that cannot be displayed contains a lifeLSN (Log Sequence Number). Instances without any tablespaces that contain a lifeLSN can be expanded successfully in the GUI:
$ nbbrowse -xmloutput "DB2:db2prd:PRD:0:Table Spaces:"
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
IBM modified the format of the lifeLSN from 6 bytes to 8 bytes and NetBackup needs an update to handle the new format.
The change to the format of lifeLSN does not affect backup and restore operations, it only affects the ability to browse table spaces when creating a new NetBackup for DB2 backup or restore template. Backup and restore operations using scripts, command lines, and existing templates are not affected and can continue to be used.
