When installing Backup Exec using the command line with PowerShell 2.0, the switches may not parse correctly if you include quotes around the argument.
The string sequence "/ is in the command and may cause the install to fail. Add a space between the switch and the opening quote for the path or upgrade to PowerShell 3.0 or greater and use the stop parsing symbol --%.
PowerShell 2.0 parses quotes and escape characters in the command line argument.
Do one of the following:
- Upgrade to PowerShell 3.0 or later and add the parameter --% after typing setup. exe in the command line argument.
- If PowerShell 2.0 is not upgraded, add a space between the switch and the opening quote.
setup.exe /SLF: "\\FileShare\Path with spaces\filename.slf"
