VMware restore jobs using NetBackup 7.6 may fail with "VMware policy restore error(2820)" when the Job ID is larger than 65534.

When communicating with the server, the client passes the value of the Job ID as a short integer.

If this issue is experienced with NetBackup 7.6 FA, please contact Symantec technical support, referencing this document ID and Etrack 3333575 to obtain an Emergency Engineering Binary (EEB) bundle which contains a fix for this issue.
If NetBackup 7.6 FA is installed on the Master Server, and the VMware Access Host is NetBackup 220.127.116.11 or 2.6 Appliance. Then the restores may hang during the virtual machine creation. To address this, please make sure to upgrade the Master to 18.104.22.168.
This issue only affects NetBackup 7.6 FA (First Availability).
