On the NetBackup client that will be using the resulting compiled version of GNU tar, it is necessary to perform the following steps:
1. Put the deliverable in the /tmp/gnu_tar directory:
2. Uncompress the deliverable:
3. Extract the GNU tar 1.09 source code:
tar xvf tar-1.09.NBU_210679.tar
4. Build the tar binary that matches your NetBackup client:
where <client_type> is the platform that matches your NetBackup client (for example, hp11.11).
