ProblemVERITAS Cluster Volume Manager (CVM) 3.0.4, 3.1, and 3.1.1 can hang, when adding disks with large private regions to a shared disk group
CVM may hang when a disk configured with a private region size greater than approximately 15MB is added to a shared disk group. As the size of the private region increases, so does its log region. When the size of the log region reaches 4096 blocks, the hang can occur.
This issue is fixed in versions 3.1.1 patch 04, 3.2 and 3.5.
After configuring disks with large private regions:
# vxdisksetup c0t2d0 privlen=20m
modify the size of the log region:
# vxdisk -f init c0t2d0 loglen=4000
then add the disks to the disk group:
# vxdg -g shareddg adddisk disk03=c0t2d0
