After upgrading to NetBackup 7.5 (through or 7.6, the Activity Monitor displays either job status and details such as queued or active job even though details shows job has completed.

After upgrading to NetBackup or 7.6, jobs may show as unknown, queued, or active state in the Activity Monitor although they have actually have progressed and/or completed.  These job statuses do not update or may be very slow to update.  


A heavily loaded bpjobd is missing job updates without reporting errors.

RMAN backups not using naming convention where the end backup piece name not using _%t to tag on Oracle time stamp.

RMAN performing too much catalog synchronization with NetBackup catalog.

1. Consider adding (or changing) these bp.conf options or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VERITAS\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config registry keys:

2. For NetBackup or or NetBackup Appliances 2.5.3 or
Please apply the relevant hotfix attached to this document to the master server.

Note: These hotfixes are no longer publicly available, as all of their fixes are included in the NetBackup and Maintenance Releases and the NetBackup Appliances 2.5.4 Release Update and Maintenance Release.  If any of these issues are experienced, the supported resolution is to apply the latest maintenance release.
