DistributedCOM 10006 and 10009 error events may be reported in the System Event Log during data discovery

Problem

The following DistributedCOM 10006 and 10009 error events may be reported in the System Event Log during the data discovery. Note that the data discovery is performed every 24 hours by default. The frequency and time to perform the data discovery can be modified at the Backup Exec Settings window.

Cause

These errors can be reported if the remote servers in the same domain are down or unreachable.

Solution

Disable the data discovery by unchecking the 'Discover servers that have data that has not been backed up' checkbox at the Backup Exec Settings window. The errors are ignorable if the reported servers are indeed down or unreachable.
