Problem

The begather utility completes without gathering any information if it is executed in the directory other than /opt/VRTSrauls/bin.

# cd /tmp
# /opt/VRTSralus/bin/begather
BEGATHER_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY - /tmp/begather

Solution

Move to /opt/VRTSralus/bin directory and then run begather utility


Here are the detailed steps to run the begather utility on Linux servers.

1. Log on as root to the Linux server on which the Backup Exec components are installed.

2. Navigate to the following directory:

   /opt/VRTSralus/bin

   For example:
   cd /opt/VRTSralus/bin

3. Start the begather utility.

   For example:
   ./begather

4. Note the location of the Packet file that is displayed on the screen.
