An upgrade or new install of Symantec System Recovery 2013 on a Windows 8/2012/2012 R2 results in a system crash.


Attempting to install Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2013 Service pack 1 over the previous installation of SSR 2013 starts but then closes without an on screen error. Checking the SSRINST.HTM log and Windows Application even log the errors below are generated. This also happens with a new install of 2013 SP1 or SP2 on a windows 8/2012/2012 R2 machine.
