Deleting an old backup destination causes a crash in VProSvc (Symantec System Recovery Service). The service does restart itself, but if there was a backup job in progress when the crash happened, that job is interrupted and rendered an incomplete backup. Those backup files appear to be complete, but are invalid image files.

This issue is currently under investigation by Symantec Corporation.
