Unable to convert V2i to a VMDK file from the System Recovery Disk

Problem

Unable to convert a V2i file created by "cold" backup to VMDK from within the recovery environment ("from the SRD").

Error Message

No error

Cause

Not a feature of the recovery disk.

Solution

P2V conversion cannot be performed from the SRD. Conversions need to be done through an installed SSR console on either a server or workstation.

NOTE: By booting a virtual guest system that has mounted the VMDK file has a virtual disk, the V2i image could then be restored to this mounted VMDK file using the SRD.
