Enterprise Vault Agent backup sets do not have hardware encryption applied

Problem

When running a Backup Job, Enterprise Vault Agent resources, such as the databases, indexes and partitions, do not have hardware encryption applied to them. Software encryption is properly applied to these resources when utilized.

Error Message

Under the "Backup Set Summary" option in the Backup Exec Job log, there is no encryption method applied under the "Throughput rate: XXXX MB/min" field.  If a set with software encryption is run, the Encryption type appears and a Key icon can be seen next to the sets in the restore selections, indicating that encryption has been applied to these resources.

Solution

A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Documents at the end of this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.
