Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES2) eDirectory backup jobs fail because Novell OES2 logon account information is not valid.

Problem

Backup of the Novell OSE 2 eDirectory folders fail with the following error: Unable to attach to a resource.

Error Message

Unable to attach to a resource.

Cause

The logon credential used to connect to the Novell OES 2 server from the Remote Media Agent for Linux computer to browse eDirectory do not remain the computer's cache, valid logon credentials must be entered for the OES2 eDirectory folders before the backup of the eDirectory folders begins. Otherwise the backup job fails.

Solution

Before submitting the eDirectory backup job for processing, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the backup job properties for the job and then navigate to the Resource Credentials page.
  2. Select the OES2 eDirectory logon account and then click Change.
  3. Enter valid credentials.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Close the Backup properties dialog box.
  6. Run the OES2 eDirectory backup job.
