The Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems service (beremote.exe) on a media server crashes on vmwaretools.dll when backing up a VMware virtual machine using the Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI). The following error is reported in the Application Event Log when the process crashes.

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions.
To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec.
