Backup Exec Debug Monitor (SGMon) fails to run by the user in Backup Operators group if User Access Control (UAC) is disabled

Problem

The Backup Exec Debug Monitor (SGMon) fails to run by the user who is a member of the Backup Operators group if the User Access Control (UAC) is disabled. The following error window pops up.
If the UAC is enabled, the UAC window to request Administrator's password pops up.

Solution

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions.
 
 
To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec

Please also note that SGMon should be run by the users who have administrator privileges. The following window pops up when launching SGMon by the user in Backup Operators group with UAC disabled in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions.

 

 

WORKAROUND (Backup Exec 2010 and 2012)
 Enable the UAC or use the user in the Administrators group to launch SGMon
