AVVI or Hyper-V duplicate job to tape fails with "0xe0009444 - The requested source duplicate backup sets catalog record could not be found" when “Most Recent Full Backup Option” is selected

Problem

AVVI or Hyper-V duplicate job to tape from a "Backup Exec deduplication folder" or from a "Backup to disk" folder fails with the following error message when “Most Recent Full Backup Option” is selected within the duplication job configuration.

  

Error Message

0xe0009444 - The requested source duplicate backup sets catalog record could not be found. Perhaps the media containing the source backup sets was previously deleted

 

Solution

WORKAROUND:

Use "Duplicate data immediately after source task completes" option in the duplicate job.

A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Documents at the end of this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

Backup Exec 2012 Rev 1798 Service Pack 3 (TECH205351).

NOTE: Duplicate stages created prior to hot fix will need to be deleted and recreated if the error persists.
