Incremental backups of Sharepoint fails with “Final error: 0xe000ff14 - A communications failure has occurred with a Sharepoint resource” with beremote service terminating on Faulting module bedssql2.dll on SQL server.

Problem

During Incremental backups of Sharepoint, the beremote service on the remote SQL server terminates and the backup job fails with the following error

Job fails with the following error in the job log: 

 
Final error: 0xe000ff14 - A communications failure has occurred with a Sharepoint resource. 
Final error category: Resource Errors 
 
Backup- Website name\Content-DB (SQL SERVERNAME\ContentDB)
V-79-57344-65300 - The Sharepoint resource is not responding. Backup set canceled. 
 
V-79-57344-65072 - An error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec Remote Agent on the Backup Exec server. 
Ensure that the job options are correct, and then submit the job again. The backup set was not created. 
 
Backup- Search instance\Search-DB (SQL SERVERNAME\WSS_Search_WEBSERVERNAME)
V-79-57344-65300 - The Sharepoint resource is not responding. Backup set canceled. 
 
Backup- Shared Search Index\Search-DB (SQL SERVERNAME\SSP_Services_Search_DB)
V-79-57344-65300 - The Sharepoint resource is not responding. Backup set canceled.
 
 
Event viewer on the SQL server where the Remote agent service crashed shows the following event:

Solution

Workaround:

Run Full backup of Sharepoint.
