Discovery Accelerator (DA) Exports for Domino hang with"Notes error: (2608) Network package has not been initialized"


When performing high numbers of large (DA) exports the process may hang. Rebooting the (DA) server will allow the export jobs to continue. This issue is random with the only pattern of behavior being that the export jobs are usually large in number with a large amount of data being exported.

A dtrace of the 'AcceleratorService' will show the following:

A hung notes.api session is suspected to be the root cause of this issue.


1) Rebooting the (DA) server will release all notes sessions and allow the export to complete.

2) Refer to the following link to run 'NSD -Kill'

3) Additionally, a utility such as 'Kill Notes.exe' can be downloaded from the internet.


What steps to perform if this issue is verified by Event ID's and dtrace analysis:

1) Once an export hangs start a dtrace of AcceleratorService using dtrace filters as per .

     Filter on the following terms: 'creating NSF' & 'Notes error:' 
     Run the dtrace until the next hang. 
     Then use 'kill notes.exe' to restart the export and gather another dtrace with the same filters.

2)  Open up a support case and submit the full accelerator dtrace, event logs, and filtered dtrace for review.
