Prerequisites

- Backup Exec 2012 rev. 1798 Service Pack 1a must be installed before installing this hotfix
- Administrative privileges are required to install this hotfix.

Post requisites
- A full backup is recommended after installing this hotfix.
- Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated after installing this hotfix

Issue(s) resolved

- Backup Exec Job Engine Crashes during a VMware backup to a deduplication folder (TECH192473)
- VMWare Agent Application GRT (Granular Restore Technology) backup of a guest Virtual Machine running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fails with an error "0xe000fedf - A failure occurred reading an object" (TECH158431)
- AVVI Differential Duplicate to Tape jobs fail with 0xe0008105 - Invalid Physical Volume Library Media Identifier (TECH193184)
- When attempting a GRT restore from a VMware backup that has incremental backups duplicated from disk storage or deduplication folders to tape the restore may fail with 0xe000848c (TECH199656)
- When restoring multiple virtual machines in the same job, the job may fail with the error 0xe000958f (TECH199655)
- After installing Hotfix 182237 For Backup Exec 2012, backups of VMware Virtual Machines fail during the verification process with "0xe0009585 - Unable to open a disk of the virtual machine." when backed up to a CIFS share. (TECH188678)
- Backup Job Log detailed report displays the incorrect time stamp for VMDK files
- VMware Backup using Backup Exec fails with Unable to open a disk of the virtual machine causing RAWS (Remote Agent for Windows Systems) to crash. (TECH187706)
- When attempting to restore a virtual machine from a MMS with Backup Exec 2012 the job fail to create with the error "Job Creation Failure: Unable to insert" (TECH199654)
- Beremote may terminate due to memory allocation error when getting backups using VMware Agent (TECH186045)
- Logical Drives in an Extended Partition are missing from AVVI GRT Backup when using multiple disks (TECH181823)
- Exception: V-79-57344-38732 when using Agent for Microsoft Virtual Server with application GRT on Hyper-v parent partition running non-English Operation System. (TECH184583)
- Active Directory (AD) Application Granular Recovery Technology (APP GRT) backup of a Domain Controller virtual machine fails intermittently with error “-1090 This instance cannot be used because it encountered a fatal error” (TECH139371)
- After restoring a vitual machine from a VMware backup, CHKDSK may find file system errors on the restored volume (TECH199653)
- Beremote.exe service on Hyper-V host crashes reporting faulting module bedscomn.dll when backing up Virtual machine with GRT (Granular Restore Technology) to Dedupe folder. (TECH189829)
- Backup Exec Job Engine crashes during Exchange and SQL backups (TECH199652)
- Scroll bar resets itself while scrolling down the 'Backup Sets' under the Storage tab in Backup Exec 2012 (TECH186696)
- Backup job reports successful but it skips the data from the volume silently (TECH198087)

Added Functionality
- Added functionality for snapshot removal retry and cleanup orphaned snapshots when backup jobs begin (TECH200709)
- Added functionality for Quieced snapshot retry. (TECH199718)
