Symantec Desktop and Laptop Option (SDLO) 7.0 fails to run scheduled backup on 64-bit clients if the option 'Run Jobs as scheduled when user logs out' is selected

Problem

Symantec Desktop and Laptop Option (SDLO) 7.0 fails to run scheduled backup on 64-bit clients if the option 'Run Jobs as scheduled when user logs out' is selected.

 

Solution

When a scheduled backup option is selected SDLO agent will list the modified files and will queue them for backup at the scheduled time. If for some reason user logs off windows prompts to acknowledge about the scheduled backup as shown in figure below. User needs to provide the password so that even after the user is logged off the scheduled backup runs. However, for 64-bit clients the password is not saved which causes the scheduled backups to miss.

Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.

This issue is currently under investigation by Symantec Corporation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, this issue may be resolved by way of a patch or hotfix in current or future revisions of the software.
