Solution

Backup Exec 2014

You can install a Backup Exec server on Windows Server 2012/Server 2012 R2 computers.

Additionally, you can use the Agent for Windows to back up and restore data from Windows Server 2012/Server 2012 R2 computers.

You can use the Agent for Windows to back up and restore data from Windows 8/8.1 computers
 
 
 
Simplified Disaster Recovery (SDR) supports Windows Server 2012 / Server 2012 R2 computers.
Note: Backup Exec 2014 revision 1786 Service Pack 1 should be installed for SDR to work on Windows Server 2012 R2.

Backup Exec 2012

Remote Agent Support to Backup and Restore a remote Windows 2012 server is added in Backup Exec 2012 Service Pack 2 (TECH203155).

Backup Exec 2012 SP2 supports Windows Server 2012 with some limitations. You cannot install a media server on a Windows Server 2012 computer. 

Simplified Disaster Recovery is not supported for Windows Server 2012.

 

 

 

Backup Exec 2010 R3

Remote Agent Support to Backup and Restore a remote Windows 2012 server is added in Backup Exec 2010 R3 Service Pack 3 (TECH203157).

Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP3 supports Windows Server 2012 with some limitations. You cannot install a media server on a Windows Server 2012 computer. 

Intelligent Disaster Recovery (IDR) is not supported for Windows Server 2012.
