Why are the Netapp filers are not reporting some performance data. Getting the error Unreachable via IP / SNMP

Problem

BY default the first IP address reached on the device is used for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) communications. Unfortunately the IP may not be resolvable from the CommandCentral Storage Control Host (CH).

Error Message


Alarm Service\TracePdkThread.log(4858): MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS Day - Sample Count = 4904. Send time = 0 ms. Object = NETAPP_Serial#(1444), collector = DeviceStatus, collector data = UnreachableViaSNMP


Alarm Service\TracePdkThread.log(9309): MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS Day - Sample Count = 9354. Send time = 0 ms. Object = NETAPP_Serial#(1444), collector = DeviceStatus, collector data = UnreachableViaIP

Cause

The default setting is to use the first returned IP for communications when monitoring is enabled in a device's configuration within CCS

Solution
