After an upgrade to NetBackup 7.5 and higher, if an MS-SQL server database backup fails, the dbbackex.exe executable freezes. The next backup then fails with a VDI timeout error.
Due to a failure to correctly process a returned error when running a SQL backup, if the backup fails, dbbackex remains in memory instead of terminating, causing subsequent backups to fail with VDI timeout errors.
