pcAnywhere Thin Host does not start automatically when using LightsOut Restore.

Problem

The pcAnywhere Thin Host does not start automatically when booting the Symantec Recovery Disk (SRD) using LightsOut Restore (LOR).

This is confirmed by running 'netstat -a' which shows that the recovery environment is not listening on ports 5631/5632 (as per http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH106675).

Solution

This issue is resolved with Service Pack 3 (10.0.3) for SSR 2011. SP3 is available via MyVeritas portal (See http://www.veritas.com/docs/000100418).

NOTE: The 10.0.3 Symantec Recovery Disk (SRD) contains the fix for this issue. The 10.0.3 SRD must be used when setting up LOR.
