Select all of the files of the VM for the restore job. The files needs to be selected by clicking the checkbox next to the machine name on the left side of the Restore Selections screen. If a vmdk is checked individually, the restore operation will complete but no data will be restored. Even for a redirected restore to a file path or another ESX host server, all vmdk's for a VM needs to be selected.
