Backup Exec 2012 revision 1798 Service Pack 1a

Problem

Backup Exec 2012 revision 1798 Service Pack 1a

NOTE: Backup Exec 2012 Service Pack 1a will replace/supercedes the previously released Backup Exec 2012 Service Pack 1.

Solution

The recommended method for updating to Backup Exec 2012 SP1a is LiveUpdate.  If LiveUpdate can't be used due to firewall/network configuration you may download SP1a at the bottom of this technote and perform a manual installation.  However please note, after applying SP1a from the technote (manual update), you may encounter an alert from LiveUpdate about an available update of Backup Exec 2012 SP1a.  You will have to re-apply the update from LiveUpdate to clear that alert.  Again, the recommended method of updating to Backup Exec 2012 SP1a is via LiveUpdate.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are upgrading from a previous version of Backup Exec, please be sure you have the latest Backup Exec 2012 installation media with SP1a embedded (the downloaded file will have SP1 in the filename).  To obtain the latest install media, have your serial number available and go to MyVeritas portal (See http://www.veritas.com/docs/000100418) to download.
