Problem

After upgrade to Backup Exec 2012 or above from previous versions all jobs fail with Dispatch failed status and following error is seen “Unable to load the job configuration information”

Error Message

UPDATE failed because the following SET options have incorrect
settings: 'ARITHABORT'. Verify that SET options are correct for use with
indexed views and/or indexes on computed columns and/or query notifications
and/or xml data type methods. :: DB Error Set 0: native=0x78e source=Microsoft
OLE DB Provider for SQL Server hr=0x80040e14 UPDATE failed because the
following SET options have incorrect settings: 'ARITHABORT'. Verify that SET
options are correct for use with indexed views and/or indexes on computed
columns and/or query notifications and/or xml data type methods.

Solution

Workaround:

Set "Arithmetic Abort Enabled" to true from the SQL Management Studio for Backup Exec Database [BEDB].

 

 

1.  Install SQL Management Studio Express if it is not already installed.   

2.  Run SQL management studio express and connect the the SQL instance (BKUPEXEC is the default).

3.  Right click on the BEDB and select properties

4.  Select Options and then set the Arithmetic Abort Enabled option to True.  Then apply.

5. Restart the Backup Exec services.
