Getting Error while installing Storage Foundation 6.0 on Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 5.8 (Tikanga)

Problem

While Installing Storage Foundation 6.0 (no HA) on Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 5.8, an error appears about one of the Operating System RPMs.

Error Message

CPI ERROR V-9-30-2015 The following required OS rpms were not found on hostname: libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386

Cause

libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386 was not installed.

Solution

Install the 32-bit library, using the native installation method, such as yum or rpm -i .

Example:
#yum install libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386

After installing this library, run the installer again for Storage Foundation 6.0.

In some cases, yum may return errors regarding system already having new version library.

Example:
yum install libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386
…………..
Transaction Check Error:
package libacl-2.2.39-8.el5.x86_64 (which is newer than 
libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386) is already installed


If the native installer fails, use rpm to install the libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386 package.

Example:
# rpm –ivh the libacl-2.2.39-6.el5.i386
