File System Archiving does not process the folder structure in alpha-numerical order on Celerra


The File System Archiving Checkpoint feature is designed to process through the sub-folders of a partially processed Volume target in an alpha-numerical manner.  However, when the sub-folders are presented from the file system in non-alpha-numerical order some folders are never reached as the processing logic enters a loop.


During Archiving Task execution, the FolderWalker process checks each sub-folder of the volume target to locate the last processed folder so it can continue from the point where the Archiving Task stopped on the previous run. Enterprise Vault checkpointing feature assumes that the folder structure will be listed in an alpha-numerical manner. When processing Celerra or NetApp targets, the folder listing is rendered in non alpha-numerical order. This will lead the folder structure processing to enter a loop state so the Volume targets being processed by the Archiving task may never reach completion.
