Hotfix for Symantec Enterprise Vault for Microsoft Exchange 10.0, Build 1316, StorageCrawler times out if migrated savesets are missing from secondary (NBU migrator) device

Problem

When Enterprise Vault attempted to restore a file that was missing from the NBU catalogue or NBU storage unit, Enterprise Vault could not determine whether the file was unavailable temporarily or permanently, Enterprise Vault continued trying to restore the missing file.

The retry attempts eventually timed out, which affected Enterprise Vault 10 operations such as Index Rebuild.

Error Message

When the problem occurred, the index rebuild reported showed the following error:

The rebuild subtask has failed.
Error Code: 62

Additionally, the event log showed following errors:

Event ID: 28944: The 3rd party storage system application 'NBU Migrator' has logged the following message:
Failed to retrieve file (error 00000003: System detected error, operation aborted.). Check the NBU Activity Monitor

Event ID: 6882: Unable to complete retrieval request

Solution

The correct status code is now being returned stating "file not found" which allows Enterprise Vault to move onto the next item that needs to be restored. The index rebuild task will therefore not fail.
