Manual Installation of a service pack for Symantec System Recovery fails while extracting the package.

While performing a manual install of a service pack for Symantec System Recovery(SSR), the system returns an error, "Not enough space available on drive X: to extract this package".(where X: is the drive on which SSR is installed)

This error is seen even if there is sufficient space available on the drive.

Please refer to the following Microsoft article for details on the cause of this issue:



1. Click on Start > Run > Type '%temp%" > Delete all the files present on this directory.

You can also perform this task by deleting the Internet Explorer browsing history(In IE, Click on Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Delete).

2. Execute the patch once again. If it returns the same error, continue with Step 3.

3. Extract the patch(.exe file) using any file archive software(like winzip, winrar etc)

4. Run the Windows Installer Patch(.msp file)
