The NetBackup LIFECYCLE_PARAMETERS file contains parameters that tune the way SLP works. This file is found in the following location :
UNIX : /usr/openv/netbackup/db/config/
In prior versions to NetBackup 7.5, this file had entries similar to the ones shown below
On each line you have the parameter followed by a space and then the value.
With NetBackup 7.5, the entries will change to the following layout :
DUPLICATION_SESSION_INTERVAL_MINUTES = 15
MAX_MINUTES_TIL_FORCE_SMALL_DUPLICATION_JOB = 30
MIN_GB_SIZE_PER_DUPLICATION_JOB = 8
An equal sign needs to be added to each line for SLP to take up the value from the configuration file.
Will I need to change the LIFECYCLE_PARAMETERS file, if I am at a lower version of NetBackup and want to upgrade ?
The answer is no, during the upgrade process to Netbackup 7.5, if you already have a LIFECYCLE_PARAMETERS file, then this will be changed to include the '=' sign between the parameter and the value as above. So the change is automatic.
