Backup of an Exchange 2010 virtual machine completed with the exception " - " when application GRT is enabled for the backup using the Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI) or Hyper-V agent.


When attempting to backup a virtual machine with Exchange 2010 installed on it, completes with the following exception:

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions.

To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec.

Workaround: (Backup Exec 2010) Backup the Exchange databases via a Remote Agent instead of through the Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure.
