Recipient cannot view a downloaded item sent as an attachment from Outlook for Mac 2011


This issue occurs when you are using Mac OS X and Outlook for Mac 2011. It occurs after you do the following:

  1. You download an archived item as an .eml file. (You download an item as an .eml file by clicking View the original item in an Enterprise Vault shortcut and then clicking the Download icon in the browser, or by clicking View whole item in Enterprise Vault Browser Search.)
  2. You attach the .eml file to a new email in Outlook for Mac 2011 and send it to one or more other users.

When a recipient opens the attachment, it may appear empty or with encoded content.


This issue occurs because Outlook for Mac 2011 does not encode the .eml attachment correctly.
