The error is a result of an incorrect LOTUS_NOTES_PATH statement in the bp.conf file on the Lotus Notes for UNIX client.

VERITAS NetBackup for Lotus Notes on UNIX needs to know the path where the Lotus Domino server data is located. It also needs to know where the Lotus program files and resource files are located.  This information is extracted from the LOTUS_NOTES_PATH variable in the <install_path>/netbackup/bp.conf.   Add and set the LOTUS_NOTES_PATH variable in the bp.conf.

A sample of the LOTUS_NOTES_PATH is shown below.

LOTUS_NOTES_PATH = /export/home/notesdata:/opt/lotus/notes/latest/sunspa:/opt/lotus/notes/latest/sunspa/res/c

In this sample /export/home/notesdata is the domino data directory, /opt/lotus/notes/latest/sunspa is the location of the libraries for domino, and /opt/lotus/notes/latest/sunspa/res/c is the resource library for localization, (c = english).
