After upgrading the Server and client from Symantec System Recovery Management Solution 2011 (SSRMS 10.0.0) to Symantec System Recovery Management Solution 2011 SP1 (SSRMS 10.0.1) SSRMS 10.0.1 will continue to use SSR-L 2.0.0.

After a successfull upgrade of SSRMS 10.0.0 to SSRMS SP1 10.0.1, SSRMS 10.0.1 will continue to use SSR-L 2.0.0 instead of SRR-L 2.0.1

This issue occurs during upgrade, if SSR-L sub agent is upgraded before SSR-L then SSR-L agent reports old information to the server. This is because the sub agent does not load the updated SSR-L shared library unless the subagent is restarted.

Follow any of the following workaround.

  1. Upgrade the SSR-L before upgrading the SSR-L sub agent.
  2. Reinstall the SSR-L  subagent if SSR-L is upgraded first.
  3. Restart the Altiris agent on the client machine.

If none of the workarounds are performed, the SSR-L agent will be upgraded to the latest version  (SSR-L 2.0.1) when sub agent is unloaded and reloaded during idle time.
