Clarification on the un-installation of SFW-HA/SFW using command line.

Problem

 Issues can occur when trying to uninstall SFW-HA/SFW using the command line and using improper syntax.

Error Message

Command line used: 

1. C:\Temp\sf_ha_32bit.dvd1.5.0.00.R1.win>setup /s INSTALL_MODE=5 SOLUTIONS=1 REBOOT=0
Received Error Message:  INTERNAL ERROR. Repository is in incorrect state.

 

2. Setup.exe /s install_mode=5 solution=1 reboot=0
Received Error Message:  The license key entered has expired.: '<Expired embedded demo license key>'
Please enter a base product license key for the selected product.

 

3. Setup.exe /s install_mode=5 solution=1 reboot=0 licensekey='<Valid license key>'
Received Error Message: License ''<Valid license key>'' is not valid for the selected product.
Ignoring.
Please enter a base product license key for the selected product.

 

Cause

The first error - INTERNAL ERROR. Repository is in incorrect state...
This error is due to the incorrect option SOLUTIONS=1 instead of SOLUTION=1.

The second error - The license key entered has expired...
This error is because the Hard End Date for the embedded demo key is over.
 
The third error - License ''<Valid license key>'' is not valid for the selected product...
This error is due to the license key is not specified in double quotes.

Solution

 The correct working command line to uninstall SFW 5.0 and SFW 5.1 in this case should be:

 Setup.exe /s install_mode=5 solution=1 reboot=0 licensekey="<Valid license key>"
