Symantec Data Insight Management Server will not start.

Problem

The Symantec Data Insight (SDI) Management Server (MS) will not start.

Error Message

#{28.EN_US} [JobRunShell.run] Job matrix.UpdateConfigJob threw a JobExecutionException:

Cause

A SDI configuration file, datadir.conf, was found to be missing due to a user action. 

Solution

Verify that the datadir.conf file is in place and in a readable condition.  The default location of this file is:

 

C:\Program Files\Symantec\DataInsight\datadir.conf
