Problem

Using EVSVR to validate savesets returns errors in Dtrace or in the EVSVR report on items that can be viewed without issue in search.asp and can be opened normally from Outlook.

Error Message

Fingerprint validation failed. The fingerprint set for the saveset generated during validation does not match the fingerprint set created when it was archived. [0x80041b9f]  

Cause

The root cause of this behavior is under investigation.

Solution

Veritas Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the version(s) of the product(s) referenced in this article.

There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a cumulative hotfix or service pack in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, but is not scheduled for any release. Applies To

This issue was first noticed on systems running Enterprise Vault 8.0.3, however subsequent upgrades have not changed the behavior. This issue has been seen where the storage for Enterprise Vault is hosted on NTFS.
