Post requisites

- A full backup is recommended after installing this hotfix.
- Remote Agent for Windows Servers needs to be updated after installing this hotfix.
- Please install Backup Exec 2010 R3 Hotfix 164220 after installing this hotfix.  These two hotfixes work in tandem to resolve a number of AVVI backup isues.  Note that if using LiveUpdate to apply these hotfixes, Liveupdate must be run twice because Hotfix 164220 will not show up in the Liveupdate list until after Hotfix 159965 has been applied.


Issue(s) Introduced with this Hotfix:

- During a set copy (duplicate) of a GRT set from the deduplication folder, ODBC errors are reported in the Backup Exec Alerts and in the event log.  See TECH169043 for details.
- A NULL-SERVER object can be displayed in the list of servers in the Backup / Restore views after backing up using client side deduplication.  See TECH169051 for details.


Issue(s) resolved:

- Backup of a Japanese Windows 2008 Virtual Machine to a deduplication folder fails with an error.  See TECH168985 for details.
- Restores from GRT backups of Virtual Machines backed up to Deduplication Folders are slow.  See TECH168988 for details.
- The Puredisk Filesystem Service (pdvfs.exe) is crashing if there are more than 50 000 directory cache entries.  See TECH159595 for details.
- Fixed a memory leak in the deduplication folder logging code
- Bengine.exe crashing during a set copy of a Virtual Machine (VM) backup from the deduplication folder to tape.  See TECH163893 for details.
- GRT backups to dedupe folder fail with access denied after BE service accounts changed.  See TECH169038 for details.
- Event ID 50000 received from source PDVFS during AVVI backups.  See TECH161451 for details.
- Slow media mounts on a dedupliation folder are causing jobs to go queued or fail.  See TECH160915 for details. 
- In a CASO environment, the deduplication folder on the CASO server was taken offline because of a temporary lack of access to the Adamm database.  See TECH169004 for details.
- Inventory of 2 OST media also inventories ALL GRT img media in the dedupe folder.  See TECH148641 for details.

- Getting Error "Unable to copy the virtual machine disk using the VMware VixDiskLib" during AVVI backups.  See TECH163355 for details.
- Getting duplicated media entries in a deduplication folder after retire/delete media, and then re-inventory the dedupe folder.  See TECH158391 for details.
- The Device and Media service waits 20 minutes for the Deduplication Engine service to start even though the Engine service is disabled.  This is resolved.
- Duplicate to tape jobs dispatched from the CAS hang and require the services to be restarted.  See TECH169027 for details.
- Multiple Opt-dupe jobs containing GRT resources when run in parallel, cause one or more of those jobs to fail with “Unable to Attach” errors on the GRT resources.  See TECH163146 for details.
- GRT backups to a deduplication folder on a system whose name is longer than 31 characters fail.  See TECH169012 for details.
- GRT backups to a Deduplication Storage Folder reports successful but does not display the Dedup stats in job log when the system locale uses comma as a decimal separator.  See TECH163997 for details.
- DFSR: Directories a exceed the maximum number of bytes for a directory name specified by NTFS_MAX_DSIZE.  See TECH166647 for details.
- RAWS crash on remote server after Device and Media service restart. ntdll!RtlRaiseStatus+0x0000000000000018 ExceptionCode: c0000008.  See TECH164250 for details.
- GRT enabled backup to of an AVVI agent to a Deduplication Storage Folder results in a BSOD caused by pdsfd.sys.  See TECH164309 for details.
- Unable to create a Deduplication Storage Folder.  "Gathering Information" is displayed in the UI for a long time.  See TECH163819 for details.
- MMS jobs do not show up on the CASO server job setup tab or in job monitor.  See TECH168997 for details.
- Restore of opt-dupe DFSR data in a Deduplication Storage folder hangs after data has been restored.  See TECH162957 for details.
- Set copy (dupliate) of a non GRT AVVI backup from one deduplication folder to another dedupe folder that spans media fails with V-79-57344-33994 - The data being read from the media is inconsistent.  See TECH167224 for details.
- Bengine service crash during AVVI duplicate from Exagrid OST to Tape. F40_ParseWrittenBuffer: Stream header size (0x4d555343) exceeds frag buffer limit.  See TECH167962 for details.
- AVVI VMDK resources not seen in restore selections of duplicate backup when using Deduplication.  See TECH165989 for details.
