Problem

 The Backup Exec Job Engine service (BENGINE.EXE) may terminate in msvcr80.dll during a high number of concurrent jobs and Synthetic backups.  This issue may also occur during Hyper-V Cluster Backups (See Related Documents TECH155635)

Solution

This issue is fixed in Backup Exec 2010 R3

 

Veritas Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in earlier versions of the product(s) cited at the end of this article. Veritas Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.  However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified in this article.
