RAWSx64 Push Install or Local Installation Fails with Error:PrepCache failed for RAWSX64_ELBA_PID and installation is canceled automatically.

Solution


1.a. Download the Microsoft Installer Zap Utility: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa370523%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

 

   b. Install on Remote Server.

2. Start the utility.

3. Locate and remove the listing for: Symantec Backup Exec Remote Agent.

4. Remove Directory. \Program Files \SYMANTEC\Backup Exec (including sub-folders)

5. Remove Keys from Registry:

HKLM\Software\BACKUP EXEC\Agent Accelerator
HKLM\Software\SYMANTEC\BACKUP EXEC\
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\BackupExecAgentAccelerator


6. Reboot Server.

7. RAWSx64 Silent setup.

  Start > Run > Cmd > Press ENTER
 
 Browse through the command prompt and execute.
  \RAWSx64\setupaa.cmd

NOTE: This may look like the Command prompt hung for a while. Give it a few minutes if necessary.
