When restoring Search Service Application, related proxy is not created automatically

When restoring Search Service Application of SharePoint Server 2010, related proxy - Search Service Application Proxy - is not created automatically.

When this issue occurs, the following symptoms are observed.

  1. The restore job is completed successfully.
  2. The restore job takes about one hour even if the index database is small.
  3. Search Service Application Proxy does not exist.
  4. The search service cannot be used after the restore.

SPSWrapper log ends at the following line.

This issue has been addressed in Backup Exec 2010 R2 Hotfix 148347.



Full backup is required after the hofix installation.
