Unable to open incremental recovery point using the recovery point browser due to 'EBAB0013' error.

Problem

When attempting to open an incremental recovery point using the recovery point browser, error 'EBAB0013' is seen (Figure 1). The same error is seen when attempting to mount the recovery point within windows explorer.

The issue is intermittent and does not affect all volumes or all incremental recovery points.

Solution

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) 2010 SP3 (9.0.3) which is available via LiveUpdate or here: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH161444.
