Hotfix for Symantec Enterprise Vault (EV) for Microsoft Exchange - Centera Collections area filling up and not reducing due to dependancy of the JournalArchive table

Which version of Symantec Enterprise Vault (tm) can this hotfix be applied?
This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:


Enterprise Vault for Microsoft Exchange 8.0 SP4 (Build 1991), 8.0 SP5 (Build 1048) and 9.0 (Build 1193)

Solution

What issue does this hotfix resolve?

ETrack 2176223: Centera Collections Area filling up and not reducing

How to Install this hotfix:

1. Stop all EV services on the EV server
2. Open the SQL Management Console on each SQL server hosting Vault Store databases
3. Create backups of all Vault Store databases to be effected as a precautionary measure
4. Run the 2322151.sql script against each Vault Store Database
5. Restart Enterprise Vault services

NOTE: This script must be run in the same manner against each new vault store database created in the future.
 

How to Uninstall this hotfix:

1.  Stop all EV Services
2.  Restore the backup of all Vault Store databases
3.  Restart the EV Services

 

NOTE:  If this Hotfix is applied to Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP4 and then upgraded to Enterprise Vault SP5 or Enterprise Vault 9.0, this Hotfix MUST be reapplied.

Failure to reapply this Hotfix will result in failures in archival (Mailbox and Journaling) with the following Event Error:
