Backup Exec User Interface crashes as shown in FIGURE 1 when Maintenance Contract Information is launched from any of the following methods after installing Backup Exec 2010 R2 HOTFIX 140360:

  • Tools -> Licensing and Maintenance Contract Information -> Maintenance Contract
  • Help --> About --> License Information --> Maintenance Contract.
  • In the Home tab at the top of Backup Exec, the section marked Licensing and Maintenance Contract Information which also contains a link to View Maintenance Contract Information

Error Message

The Backup Exec for Windows UI has stopped working 


The Installation of the above hotfix causes the Backup Exec console crash.


This issue has been resolved in Backup Exec 2010 R3 which can be found and downloaded from the below link.
