Collection failed with Event ID 13360, 6796 and 6842


During the running of a partition's collector, Event ID 13360, 6796 and 6842 appeared and failed to collect DVS files to CAB file. In this example the title of the partition contained Chinese characters.

Description: The XML parse error 0xc00ce508 occurred on line number 1, near the XML text "<files><file name="XXXXXX". AND The error description is 'An invalid character was found in text content.'. AND Could not find prepared statement with handle 0.

Description: A Collector encountered an error. Reason: <0x80040e14> PartitionEntryID: 1F8A4532B6A0A024D8C7329BE9ABF89161q10000EV Method: CCollector::CreateCollection


In versions 8.0.x and 9.0.x if the partition contains Chinese characters in the name collections will fail as it tries to parse the full path.  (e.g. F:\Test Vault Store 存储\Express Vault Store Ptn2).


1. Create new partition(s) with English characters only for the folders.
2. Run move archive task to move the archives to the new partitions before starting the collection process.
